Menu doesn't switch
-
Hi!
I’m having the same issue that Raimund Hagemann: I switch from one language to another and the content switches correctly but the menu doesn’t switch, I have to refresh the page to have the menu in the correct language. I’ve already tried the beta version of the plugin, as you recommended to Raimund, but the problem persists. I’ve also changed my theme to a few default themes, but the language switcher is placed in a top bar widget and it doesn’t show in those default themes. I’m using Bridge theme.
I have an error_log in wp-admin that I can send you, if you think it could help (it’s too long to put it here).
Regards,
Nieves

using default wp theme Twenty Thirteen and set the existing menu to main and place the language switcher in the menu.
Ok, I’ve done it, but the main menu still doesn’t show. My website is a one page website, so I only have “home” in the menu.
Make temporarily more menu entries and enter the names in the different Languages – Navigation Label.
Also put the menu swichter in the menu (Appearance – Menus – Language Switcher)
It is only to test whether the menu language switches correctly.Ok, thanks for your suggestions.
I’ve created two new pages, and now I can also see my real menu options. I’ve put the menu switcher in the main menu. But the problem persists: the menu doesn’t switch, even if I refresh the page (before it changed only when reloading the page).with the Default WP theme?
With the Twenty-thirteen, as you asked. You can have a look here:
http://www.feelgoodmedia.esWhat other plugins you use?
Make sure your menu entries have been translated – Navigation label per language
Oops, the english labels were missing, I wrote them before but somehow they were lost while changing themes. Now they are set and the menu works.
I’m using Contact Form, Layer SliderWP, W3Total Caché, WPBakery Visual Composer, WPBakery Visual Composer& qTranslate-X.THANK YOU! unlike some others you helped me to make sure that this is a Themeforest theme problem.
There are now three topics with the same problem switching menu languages in themes from Themeforest.
I’ve seen that they all have a theme from Themeforest:
Bridge theme from Themeforest
Elison theme from Themeforest
Stockholm theme from ThemeforestYou basically need to talk to theme authors, telling them that it all works fine on “default WP theme”, please, make it work on your theme too …
Some themes catch the click and do some thing really special with it, like sending an ajax request and then updating only applicable part of the page, for example. We need different way of language switching for those and the theme developers need to tell us how to do it.
Thank you very much for your help. I contacted theme authors previously and they said they haven’t tested their theme with your plugin, so they couldn’t guarantee both were compatible. I don’t think they were willing to work on that.
Do you think an external developer could fix that? Or is it something just the authors can fix? I’m not a developer but I could ask for help to some friends. O
sure, if you know anyone with programming experience and time you could ask.
These are all commercial themes and you pay for it right? Also for support!
quote on their website
What does support include? – Assistance with reported bugs and issuesWe can not support all those themes for free while their paid for it.
I assume you understand. But you could ask John Clause for paid support he may be able to give a quotation. So let him know if you’re interested. Contact him here and refer to this topic.
I totally understand! In fact, I’m impressed by your excellent support here, fast and to the point answers. I’ll ask my developer friend but I’m keeping John’s contact just in case. Thanks a lot for the suggestion!
Best regards,
NievesYou are welcome!

Do not use install via WordPress admin!
First unzip the new file.
Deactivate the existing version of qTranslate in WordPress admin.
Then with FTP delete all files in the existing qtranslate-x folder and after that copy all new files in it.
Activate qTranslate-x again via WordPress admin.
