    Try a different browser.

    I have had this problem since upgrading to the latest version of WordPress. I have tried:
    different machines
    different browsers
    different sites and hosts
    deactivating all plugins
    changing theme
    checking permissions
    One of my other sites now wont let me use visual mode for posts but this site has not been upgraded to latest WP version.
    I’m seriously thinking of tossing them all out the window and going back to my flower arranging…….

    Hiya

    Thanks for the help, I tried it in the safari browser and it worked fine. Are there any settings or things I can change so i don’t have to use 2 browsers?

    thanks:D

    Depends on what the other browser is, SlimReaper. Firefox 4 JUST came out, so if you’re using FF, try upgrading. Chrome and IE 8 both work for me.

    kimbaillie – Have you tried switching from the flash uploader to the regular uploader? Though it sounds like your PC is having a meltdown and you may need to reinstall a browser. I would make a new topic since you have way more than JUST SlimReaper’s issues going on.

    I have a similar issue. I’ve read the sticky and checked everything:
    – /uploads has 777 and apache as owner
    – I’ve created the .htacces:
    <IfModule mod_security.c>
    SecFilterEngine Off
    SecFilterScanPOST Off
    </IfModule>
    – I’ve tried it in Chrome & FF4

    However, I still get below:

    Upload error, can’t move uploaded file to /var/www/vhosts/website.nl/httpdocs/wp-content/uploads.

    It’s driving me crazy… Can someone please help me?

    Why is apache the owner? Unless apache owns ALL the WordPress files (usually it’s your userID – the one you use to login to the server with, NOT your WordPress ID), you should have the same ID that owns wp-config.php own that folder.

    ow… I read (somewhere in this forum) that Apache should be the owner of only that folder. Where can I change the owner? In MySQL maybe? Thank you for your answer and help.

    IF and pretty much ONLY if apache’s owning all your WordPress files, then it should own the uploads folder πŸ™‚ It really depends on your server setup. I take it you’re working now? πŸ˜€

    douwejdabbert

    (@douwejdabbert)

    Hmmm… not working now :-). How can I change the owner? can’t seem to find out how…

    Thanks Ipstenu I actually discovered the solution to this particular issue through another thread πŸ™‚ Lucky, since the flower arranging competition season is about to start and I need to be cool, calm and collected πŸ˜‰
