Media "not found" after import

Hello,
I tried to import pages and media from one WP installation into another one.

This is what I did. I copied the uploads folder from the old site into the WP directory of the new site. The directory structure is exactly the same as the old one.

Then I imported pages imported fine, but the media would not be imported, so I manually imported them after the page import finished.

Each page has a pdf link or a FLV flowplayer embed. If I view a page as is, the is fine because it still links to the old file on the old location.

However, if I change the path in the page editor to point to the media in its new location, the video embed reads “file not found”. I know the media is in the new location.

Anyone know what I’m doing wrong?
