    Dear Jordy,

    I have been a long-time user of this wonderful plugin; it really allows one to showcase their photo’s in the best possible way on retina screens. I was really excited when compatibility with the Manual Image Crop plugin was offered; a plugin I often use to set up the ‘featured image’. However, recently – I am not exactly sure when as I hadn’t posted to my blog in quite some time – the retina-image is not (re)generated when using the Manual Image Crop plugin; I additionally trialled by removing the pre-crop retina image manually and after subsequent cropping no retina image reappeared – the non-retina-image was generated correctly. I am checking the ‘Generate Retina/HiDPI (@2x)’-box and compatibility is indicated. As said, I am unsure if this is an incompatibility with the Manual Image Crop plugin that has been introduced by a recent update to PHP 7, the WP Retina 2x plugin, Manual Image Crop plugin or WordPress itself. Of course, this could also be something very specific to my installation, although I don’t think I have gone of the beaten trail with anything…

    Hi,

    I am not sure why Manual Image Crop doesn’t work anymore but more and more people are using YoImages for cropping images and it definitely works with my plugin, it was also all updated very recently. Maybe you could try that one instead?
