    I am currently using the frontier theme at http://dev.myhrcg.com and I am fairly new to wordpress and CSS. How do I make it so that my content boxes are transparent enough for the background to show? Can I adjust the level of transparency?

    You can adjust 0.4 to a value from 0 to 1.

    #main, article {
        background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.4);
    }

    What about the widgets? Is there a way to make the white space transparent?

    Add .sidebar .widget to the code

    #main, article, .sidebar .widget {
        background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.4);
    }
