Hi I am trying to set up SMTP but get this error:

Error Sending Message SMTP works with MailPoet to hazel@freebirthdatelottery.com | SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host. | Warning: fsockopen(): unable to connect to smtp.mandrillapp.com:587 (Connection timed out) in /customers/b/3/a/freebirthdatelottery.com/httpd.www/wp-content/plugins/wysija-newsletters/inc/phpmailer/class.smtp.php on line 119

When I send via “my own website” I get a success message but the email doesn’t come through. I had the same problem with my Ultimate Member emails too (emails sending but not coming through) and Mandrill fixed those.

I googled the SMTP error and I have seen a lot of people say the host could be blocking a port. I contacted them and at first they said “they were working on an issue at their end” and contacted them again now after nothing has changed and they’re giving me the run around, so not sure if it’s to do with my host or not! (one.com)

Does anyone know what the problem could be? I am using PHP7 which I know was an issue recently but not sure it has anything to do with this and as far as I know this has been fixed anyway.

    Thanks.
