I haven’t used any of the mail plugins but this link has a bunch. If you do find one you like let us know. Just bump this again after some time if you don’t get some better advice.

tried a couple out…… no luck… im looking for one where the subscriber doesnt have to be a member of the blog, rather just input their email to receive the blog updates…. hopefully one day i’ll find something 🙂

this is confusing. what do you want, a subscriber plugin or an email this post to a friend plugin?
Theyre different, I use both, and neither necessitate that the user for each be a registered member.
i didnt say “email this post to a friend” 😉 i’d like one where the visitor puts in their email and name in a form, then every time i make a post, the entry is sent to the email. which one are you using?
I use feedblitz.com for a (free) service that does exactly that.
If you use feedburner.com, they have a similar offering.
ya i’ve tried feedblitz but its so damn confusing 🙁 not sure how to actually get the email form on my site or anything.

I know what you didnt say, or I wouldnt have asked for clarification.
I offer users the ability to subscribe to comments, and send a post to a friend.

the plugin available from watershedstudio.com looks good, but in the install directions, there’s a bit of info missing–namely how many fields the table needs. I posted a comment on the watershedstudio.com blog entry about this plugin, but no answer yet. anyone here happen to know how many fields the table needs?
