• Ok, I can’t find an answer to this. I’ve Emailed Brian, but imagine he’s too busy.
    So, here’s the problem.
My index page is NOT in the wordpress folder. I can’t find confirmation of whether this is the problem or not. But, someone types their Email into the field, they get the confirmation Email, but they don’t get the notification that there has been a new post.
I can’t, for the life of me, figure out why. Does anyone else know?
    Help! (please)

    And who is Brian ?

Sorry, Brian Groce – developer of the mail list hack in the wiki.
    Okay, I’ll try to clarify.
First, my wordpress index is in a different directory than wordpress. Which is fine, it works fine right now.
    2) I was looking for a way for people to subscribe to the blog to be notified whenever a post was put up.
    3) I found Brian Groce’s maillist hack and installed it. It consists of an edit to the myhacks file and a couple of other files.
    4) The way it works is someone signs up on the hack’s form field. They then get a confirmation Email they have to respond to to activiate their subscription.
    5) This is where it stops. It works through the last step, but then it doesn’t notify them on the post – at all.
Brian (the developer) says he hasn’t had any problems with it, but that’s where he kinda left me. I don’t know if it’s not working because I have the index in a different folder or what. But, I need to find something to do this for me, and his seems to be the only one written.
So, I’m hoping others might be able to help.
Hope that clears things up a little.
    – Nick

Not all of us are familiar with the code, so please wait till someone who is familiar and has used this comes along. I hope you tried contacting the plugin author sometime later.

Yup, I tried multiple times and gave up.

Can you please post a link to the code so perhaps some one else can take a look at it and see what could be improved?
