Do you have a MySQL database? If so, make sure all of the values that you entered into wp-config are correct.

I don’t know if I’ve got a MySQL database! How can I check it out? Does anybody know if Lycos UK support MySQL?
It looks like you can only get a MySQL database if you have the Experienced or Professional accounts, not the free Personal account. If you have any of the accounts with MySQL, then you should be able to get the necessary info through their user interface.

Got the Personal: WordPress won’t work. Still trying to find a free web hosting service supporting PHP and MySQL to try WordPress… Is it so hard to find? Any idea?

Yes, hardly any exist. And none are worth using at all. It’s better to have a low-price webhost, like DreamHost. Dreamhost is well worth it, check out their plans. http://www.dreamhost.com

I’m using Blogger now, and I would like to move to WordPress…a lot better! I’m looking for a free solution to try WordPress for few days, no more than that, using PHP and MySQL.
I forgot to mention that I’ve got 250mb with my Spymac account…anybody knows how to get WordPress working there? FTP runs fine with them, but how could I publish my WordPress?
Anyway, if you guys know a free web hosting for few days, just post it!!

Have tripod really stopped offering mySQL databases with the free accounts? I know they used to have them because I had two accounts with them and it was very useful for testing stuff. Sucks if it’s true.
