• For some reason I can’t get my blog to let a paragraph into my text. I never used to have this poroblem but now I seem to have tried everything from writing <br> in my post to pressing enter a million times, it always reset it it all to a simple </br> Does anyone have any ideas what to do? This appeared out of nothing…

  • The RTE is quite buggy. Disable it in the Users panel and use the Quicktags editor. Or edit the straight HTML with the HTML button on the RTE. Most likely there is an extra element that is creating this problem somewhere in the post.

I’ve used the html button aswell without any luck, after pressing the upload it shows a chang ein the editor but after pressing save, it all disappears back to br again…
I have now also tried to remove RTE, that didn’t help, alhough when managing the post it does show more space between my text than a normal br (post being here: http://www.boybeater.org/archives/102) there should be more space above the picture…. Also if you compare that post with the same one on the index page you’ll see that the space it has in the archives (little as it may be) doesn’t appear at all on the main page…

Are you trying to hit 2 returns to create a blank paragraph simply as a means to get some space it there?

I’ve tried that aswell, although one would usually do or used to. neither works anymore… i can’t write in several br either…

I was asking because that does not work with the RTE. You need to edit the css to pad your images more. This way it will be the same on every image.

It has nothing to do with the image padding as the paragraph wont work between texts either…

no… i don’t see the pragraphs. do you see them in the text? for instance if you take the first post… after …hideous creatures. There should be a paragraph. do you see it?

so basically this is only a problem in ie, and a problem that just magically appeared??
    or is it my computer??

IE is not very reliable when it comes to rendering css. Download FireFox and check it on there. Always design for a modern browser and then go back and fix what you can for old browsers (IE).

I found a similar (opposite, actually) bug today on a WP blog I’m helping to edit (www.insidethecbc.com)

In IE 5.5, an extra break was inserted after each hyperlink. Doesn’t show on IE 6 or FireFox. So I’m not surprised that you had this problem in one browser and not another.

OK but what I don’t get is why I don’t have the same problem in older post as this one:
    http://www.boybeater.org/archives/100

And no matter how many times I press enter in the post or type out <br> or all I get is one space…
Do you guys see more than a small space around the image on the latest post on the index page? It should look like the above post….
