• Hey all hoping you can point me in the right direction. I want to set up an inventory/gallery/portfolio pretty much what I’m after is the same as what the Sortly app offers but on my website. It does not need to have customer access As it will just be for me.
To provide some context – I make custom cookies and have many many cookie cutters, stencils etc.
essentially I want to create a catalogue of all the different items I have and then add a photo of each item but also add photos of past works made with that item.
Then – if a customer asks for example for a beach related cookie theme > I can search beach and/or summer and everything related will come up.
Will need the following features as a minimum: item, multiple photos, categories, tags

    Any recommendations?

Sortly app is pretty much exactly what I need but I cannot justify the cost as would need a paid version.
I thought having a WP plug-in would be the best alternative?

  • Hi @ns9790,

I’m not sure of an exact plugin similar to Sortly, however, as an alternative, you could consider using WooCommerce. You can install the free eCommerce plugin and setup a “store” like an online catalog (without shipping and pricing), using the software’s filter functionality to create categories, variations and attributes for your cookies. You can also add galleries for each cookie type as well. Just a suggestion!

    Hey @stormyscott thanks for
The reply. I do have and will be using woocommerce however I will have certain items for sale as well so I think I will need my “catalogue” to sit separately to my for sale inventory? I’m not entirely sure as I haven’t started adding products just yet (trying to find best option first). Because the catalog will also be set up to be accessed by admin only on a separate page I’m also not sure if it’s possible to hide all those items from customers finding them when perusing the online store?
    Hope that makes sense!
