I wish I could help you I have pretty much the same issue, I can’t login since my upgrade, but my e-mail address is fine, I had a new password set to me and it still didn’t work. I deleted my cookies and I changed my password in phpMyadmin. It just keeps saying please login again. If I type the wrongpassword it says incorrect password, if I type th correct one it says please login again. So I don’t know..

I solved the problem erasing the database! but see around, hundreds have your problem in the forum and hour after hour new solutions are coming. This version of WP is bringing along a lot of problems, I stayed up two nights and two days with no sleep both for upgrading and installing new one, in two days with this new version seven of my blogs out of eight were down!
I just erased the database and still have the same issue!

I finally got to the dashboard by erasing the database and clearing private data in firefox. Try just clearing all the cache, cookies, etc.
The way I get in is by hitting the “New Post” link from my blog, that gets me into my admin panel even though I can’t get there directly !

I just installed 2.6 myself and discovered I could no longer login either. It appears to be a browser issue with me. I cannot login with Safari, but I can with Firefox.
Is this getting worked out?
I reinstalled wordpress again and that seems to have done the trick.

Same problem. I was unable to get into the dashboard on Firefox, my primary browser, and could only get in on IE. Note I have two different systems and both behaved the same. On one system I cleared Firefox’s cache. No luck. After two days (the latency might have fixed it) I went to my main page and under site admin, my theme has it, there was a logout link.
Upon logging out in firefox, I was able to login!
It appears that if one upgrades while a session is still active, that session state is stored in WP database(?). From here on out I will logout before upgrading again!
I had this problem. I emptied the plugins folder. Then I returned the plugins one at a time and that seemed to solve the problem. Don’t ask me why.
