Sometimes the redirect after login data gets corrupted. If this is the case, typing your site’s /wp-admin/ address into your browser will get you in if the auth cookie was created as part of your login attempt.

Did you activate your new theme or just upload it to your site? If it’s active, use FTP or your hosting file manager to rename the theme folder, forcing WP to activate a different theme, it will be twentyseventeen if it’s available. The login process ought to work correctly if the new theme was causing the trouble.

The other thing to do is check you site’s PHP error log for possible clues to why you are having login trouble. Is there any other messaging on the login screen after you attempt a login?
