esmi,
Thanks for the help, but I’m still stuck. I tried following the instructions on the Codex page but I wasn’t getting all the responses. I’m running windows 7 Pro 64-bit.
I think/hope the problem is something simple like stuff in the wrong directory or a parameter not set correctly.
I was Web Platform Installer 2.0 to set up my IIS environment. It looks OK, but I still get the php not running message.
Thanks — Dave
Don’t know if this is related – I just had same error (using CPanel) and I activated MySQL and it loaded fine. It’s as if it can’t create the database.
Hope this helps in some way.
Mike

Mike,
How do you activate MsSQL?
Thanks — Dave

I’m still stuck after losing a week and lots of hours trying to do something that was said to be straight forward. Yes, I am frustrated.
I’m running windows 7 Pro 64-bit.
I used Web Platform Installer 2.0 to set up my IIS environment. It says all the stuff is there and I can run the “Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager” from the start menu
I have php running and can open “localhost/phpinfo.php” from my broswer.
MySQL appears to be running OK. Using task manager I can see the MySQL service is running.
When using WPI to load WordPress, I get the following message:
“We’re Sorry. The following products have failed to install.
WordPress This product did not install successfully: The database ‘wordpress’ could not be created. Acess denied for user “root@localhost’ (using password: YES)”
I have no idea where the YES password is coming from.
I downloaded the wordpress-3.0-IIS.zip file and unzipped it into the C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wordpress dircetory. When I try running wp-admin/install.php, Dreamweaver is opened and the following message is displayed: Error: PHP is not running.
I think the wordpress db and db user has not been correctly created.
Please help me sort this stuff out.
Thanks — Dave
