Probably have the url/blog address incorrectly set in the options.
I’m with Beel – check that your 2 urls in Options are correctly set, then redo your permalinks.

Thanks…I think. I went to Options and the line in the second window (blog address) is the same as the one above (WP address). I tried eliminating the second one, but that led to a serious problem—now NOTHING works! I readdressed the second line as before, but when I hit the update button–or any button, I get FILE NOT FOUND. Not only this, but the theme has also taken a hike. If I go to Presentation, etc—any Admin button–all I get is File Not Found.
Help!
You don’t “eliminate” the URIs from there – you should have the real ones where your WP install and blog are.
If you have phpmyadmin, you can fix your current problem by following this guide: http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/site-url/

I don’t have phpmyadmin, only shell access to the root directory files. Any way to fix from there?
