Sure it was a hack? It might be the theme you are using. A link to your website would help.
Change your theme to the default theme and then delete the link. Leave it alone and confirm that the link did not come back.
Once you are satisfied that the link is really gone, switch back to that theme and create a new post. Did the link come back?
You are right, it does seem to have to do with the theme.
I switched to the original theme and deleted the link and it was gone.
As soon as I switched back to my theme (a free theme I downloaded off the internet) it re-appeared. How can that be? Is there any way I can keep the theme and still get rid off the link?

Some theme sites are E-V-I-L and add obfuscate crap to the theme even when the original author didn’t. It’s probably the best reason to get GPL’ed themes from http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/ and avoid that practice.
Which theme are you trying to use and where did you get it from? It looks like you are currently using a Brian Gardner theme, Vertigo Squared Enhanced. I am 100% sure he does not do that that sort of thing.
Would that be the Europa Casino link? If not, could you give as a clue as to where this link is on the front page?
If I’ve got the link correct, then I’d guess it’s being added via your sidebar.php.
Yes it is the Vertigo Squared Enhanced theme.
I liked it and modified it a little bit myself. The link “Europa Casino” wasn’t there for a couple of months. I have just seen it and would like to get rid off it.
If possible, I’d also like to keep the theme.
hello esmi,
yes it is the “Europa Casino” link that should not be there.
I just downloaded the r_sidebar.php file from the server and everything looks good in there.
Any ideas how the link gets there automatically all of a sudden?
I tricked it into not appearing by creating a ‘spam’ link category and assigning this link to that category (and NOT the ‘blogroll’ category).
The link won’t regenerate because it’s already there, but it won’t appear on your site blogroll.
So that’s at least a temporary workaround until a better solution is found.
