Lightbox not working

    I use a multisite WPMU installation of WordPress and during the last three days I have searched many forums and articles and tried to execute all found suggestions on how to fix the lightbox not opening in its js window. The theme is Twenty Twelfe. The problem is always I hit the thumbnail it opens the picture in the same browser window, but not in the lightbox.

    I don’t want to bother with all things I tried to do, but as an example: I tried to disable all plugins and leave only Nextgen Gallery, Reset Option under Gallery > Other Options, different permalinks setup, insert several php codes in header and footer as suggested in forums,… The problem persists for all effects.

    I also tried to install other galleries and lightboxes with the same result. That shows the problem may probably be not related only to Nexgen lightbox but some other js problem.

    I have disabled all plugins now in great hope there would be somebody willing to look at this specific case at:

    I will appreciate any kind of effort to analyze the problem and suggest a solution.

    @matousch – I would suggest there is something blocking the loading of your JavaScripts file. Being as this is a Multisite instance the troubleshooting can be a bit more involved than a single site instance.

    Try disabling all plugin from the Network Admin pages if you have not already tested that.

    Thank you, I have tested to disable all plugins in my multisite network, actualy there was the only plugin – nextgen gallery turned on during the last 2 days. I’m running also other sites on different subdomains of this multisite, for example http://david.matia.info/working where the lightbox is running without problems. I also tried to change the template for http://apartmentsverona.matia.info with no success though, still opens the picture in the browser window instead of the lightbox.

    I tested a little more and since I had found no solution, I decided to build the web from scratch again and watch what happens during the process. Things became interesting when I put a short piece of code to the side area text widget. This code provides daily currency exchange rate and includes some javascript link. It started immediately the problem of lightbox not working. Once removed, all goes fine.

    I mapped the new subdomain to our production web address http://www.apartmentskarlovyvary.cz and renamed the old one to apartmentsveronaold.matia.info where the above mentioned script is activated. The facebook box in the widget area is actually causing the same problem with the lightbox not working.

    The strange thing occured when I checked our even older version of site at http://verona-apartments-karlovy-vary.tripia.info/ where it is installed on single site instance of WordPress and the lightbox works just fine there even though the script for exchange rate and facebook is also running in the side widget area.

    It would be appreciated if this could be analysed and fixed for the multisite WPMU environment too, otherwise it looks like there is no possibility to have any other Javascript code at the same page as nextgen gallery with the lightbox functionality required.
