Latest posts from specific category on static page?

Hello,

Is there a plugin that will allow me to show posts from a particular category on a static page?

I want to have a page that includes the latest posts in excerpt form from a certain category, and including the thumbnail image from the post.

I’m a complete newbie as far as coding goes.
