Since a few weeks, I experience some issues regarding the open graph features of Yoast.

Until now, the og:image tag was filled with the feature image I selected for each of my post, which was perfect for me. But now, it’s seems I have to attach manually an og:image for each post, using the Social Networks part of the Yoast Box, for each article.

I wasn’t aware of that since today, when I try to find why my feature image didn’t apply any more when I was sharing a new post on Facebook.

Is there a way to force Yoast to automaticaly use the feature image rather than being oblige to specify this same image twice (one for the featiure image, on for the og:image) ?

    Thanks a lot

  • I’m having some odd issues as well. Not sure they are the same, but I’ve noticed that on Twitter, Yoast is now not using the OG:Image as the twitter:image for Twitter cards. It’s just using a random image from the post. Perhaps these two issues are related in some way as I have also seen them since the last update I believe.

Even if I manually define a Twitter image in the UI at the bottom of a post, it gets ignored.

In fact, I find a workaround by modifying the test of image size wthin the plugin.

I check one of my url with the Facebook debug tool, there is no alert regarding the size of my pictures (they are all 160 x 220 / 240, so partially above the minimal size indicated by facebook help). Example : http://www.vampirisme.com/livre/brown-carter-vampiriques-fredaines/

I think the image size test is partialy incorrect, and must be modified : the || operator between width and height minimal size must by imho replaced by a && operator.

Hmm I’ve created a ticket for this to be investigated and fixed if you’re right:
