Hello, we are trying to import products but each time we try it doesn’t seem to complete. Most often, I get:
    No data received
Unable to load the webpage because the server sent no data.
    Reload this webpage
Press the reload button to resubmit the data needed to load the page.
    Error code: ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE

Other times I get a 404 after the import runs for a little bit.

Here are the product totals in Etsy:
    Active 31
    Draft 1
    Expired 48
    Sold Out 13
    Inactive 19

In WordPress, I currently have 3 published products and 25 drafts. I run the import once and I typically get 9 imported published and 2 drafts. if I run it again I typically get about 10 more published. If I run it a 3rd time or more I get a random amount of drafts (typically around 4-7) and about 25 drafts. I’ve completely removed all products (trash included) and re-imported with similar results each time.

The site is hosted with GoDaddy using their lowest shared server tier ($1/month) so I’m not sure if that factors in to this. The max file upload size is 32mb and there is a 600 second timeout in place.

I’m worried that even if we get a successful import the first time, syncing afterwards won’t work properly. I’m happy to test anything out and even grant site access or FTP login privately if that would help. Just let me know who to email a privenote.com note to with credentials. This site is for my sister-in-law who I’m helping get her small store listed. Thanks so much for any help!

The ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE part sounds like it may be a response value from the Etsy server, but I can’t guarantee that. Maybe they were having some API issues when you were trying?

Syncing shouldn’t be a huge issue later, as it’ll skip any that it finds already existing.

Why it’s so random for published/draft is a good question though that I don’t have an immediate answer for.

I doubt this is an issue with Etsy. I just tried again after deleting all products and only 9 imported. The importer page eventually reloaded to a 404 which I’ve seen before. This seems like a plugin or server issue, no?

Could be a server error, yes. Not trying to say our plugin is pristine and perfect here, but we just haven’t determined sources of the errors quite yet.

Hey @tw2113, just wondering if this is something you’re looking into on your end or if there is anything I can do on my end to help. Again, we’re willing to provide login info if that would assist you. My sister-in-law would love to use the plugin but we’re just not having any success importing all products or having them import with the correct publish settings. Thanks again

I hadn’t to be honest. Is the amount being imported also the amount that is active in the shop?

send a login to michael @ webdevstudios . com. Please reference this thread as well so I know what the context is.

I’m wondering if it’s the hosting and hosting configuration at this point, to be honest. It’s frequently timing out on me when clicking the save button on the settings page and giving a “page not found” error. I know saving the settings is one way to trigger an import, but that’s when things go “south” as they say.

With that timing out, it’d cut off the process of the import and leave some undone or half done, as you were probably seeing. In helping some other people, I used the plugin with a friend’s shop and she has 150 items in her shop, and it ran fine locally, so I don’t think it’s that the plugin is having issues.

Lots of factors going on as always.

That said, I hit refresh and save enough times and just waited it out and there should be 31 items, though most are set as drafts at the moment.
