ISO: a countdown timer/widget that works..

    Don’t know why none of the count down timers have worked — they all have had issues — started to post questions to the authors, but realized, it must be something with my site.

    Plugins tried:
    WP Count down: Fails on finding a file (xml) -if you create the xml it works; but the font is too big to fit in a widget.
    KB Count down: doesn’t work, at all.
    Events: (events plugin by Arnan de Gans) doesn’t create the tables it needs.
    Escriba CountDown Widget: Causes ‘alert’ type dialog to appear. No text is in the dialog.
    Countdown Widget: (By Jan De Luyck) 404’s on “click here to configure”
    Countdown widget: (By Matt Say) once activated, no widgets can be dragged/moved.
