@mightyaswell – NextGEN Legacy versions (1.19.13 and earlier) are not really supported as we always recommend updating to the current release of NextGEN Gallery which is compatible with current WordPress versions.
Thanks!
– Cais.
The problem is that my theme (PageLines) conflicts with the 2.x versions and the 2.x versions break my design. This is the only plugin I am using that I have not been able to confirm works with 4.x. Has anyone tested 1.9.13 with WP4. or is it know to NOT work?
@mightyaswell – We no longer do any testing with NextGEN Legacy versions … and last I was aware the PageLines theme was working correctly with NextGEN Gallery.
– Cais.
can you tell me the highest version of WP that 1.9.13 WAS tested to…
@mightyaswell – The readme.txt file specifically states WordPress 3.5.1 … it may work beyond that but that would be the last version we tested against.
– Cais.
If it helps, I’m currently using 1.9.13 with WP 4.0, and seems to be fine.
I would upgrade to 2.x, but haven’t found a reliable way of upgrading so have ended up rolling back each time.

Thanks Rich. I’ll give it a shot.
@rich G – Just an FYI … we do not recommend rolling back to NextGEN Legacy versions if you upgrade to current versions of NextGEN Gallery.
– Cais.
@mightyaswell – No probs… usual backup rules apply as YMMV. π
@cais – Everytime I have tried to upgrade (automatic or manual) NextGen stops working, and when enabled all the site’s pages default to the homepage. Rolling back to 1.9.13 is the only thing that brings the functionality back.
@rich G – Have you ever sent us a Bug Report or opened a Support topic for this?
Next release, if you choose to update, we’d like to help get you to current if possible.
Thanks!
– Cais.
@cais – Thanks for the offer. I’d not put through a support request as the rollback option worked each time… but will have another go with the next update.
@rich G – No worries. Historically it may not have been the case but I look forward to your next attempt going smoothly.
