Is this a Mandatory Plugin for WordPress?

    I am just curious to know if this plugin is mandatory to use Redis with WordPress or if it is just used to see the status?

    For example, If Redis is properly configured on my dedicated server, but I don’t use this Plug-in, will the Redis Object cache still work for WordPress?

    This plugin allows WordPress to communicate with Redis, without it Redis won’t be utilized by WordPress.
