is mt wordpress gs optimised?

    I was looking at this hosting provider http://www.nexcess.net/wordpress-hosting-optimization

    Does MT offer the same? (W3 total cache, MySQL Tuning for WordPress, etc)

    PHP open_basedir is disabled for as it can hurt PHP performance.
    PHP caching is handled by eAccelerator PHP accelerator, optimizer, and dynamic content cache on WP-OBP-100, WP-OBP-200, and WP-OBP-300 plans. WP-OBP-400 Plans and OBP clusters utilize APC for PHP caching.
    PHP Realpath cache settings are increased
    Apache KeepAlives are enabled and tuned for efficiency.
    Gzip output compression is enabled
    A secure Memcached instance in setup to be used with W3 Total Cache. This allows the WP cache to utilize ram for caching instead of the filesystem.

    Not sure what you meant by MT. It could be mediatemple or anything else. Whatever the host it is, you can ask them directly. Most hosts (that I know of) would be more than happy to answer these kind of questions.

    You were right in posting the original question with the code ‘mt’. You must have clicked the link from wordpress.org/hosting to post a new thread here about mediatemple (I just noticed the tag).

    Gzip output compression is enabled

    MT has mod_deflate.

    A secure Memcached instance in setup to be used with W3 Total Cache. This allows the WP cache to utilize ram for caching instead of the filesystem.

    No, no Memcached in GS plans.

    I’m sorry I could not answer your other questions (because I do not know if MT does or has those).

    Seeing as they are a wordpress partner I thought there would be something more wordpress specific but couldn’t find anything on the site http://mediatemple.net/wordpress-webhosting.php

    MT is more expensive than nexcess which is more wordpress optimised…

    Hopefully someone from MT will answer! 🙂
