• Hi,

I am creating a health information site which includes users entering some personal information (but nothing sensitives or HIPAA required). A dedicated hosting is coming around 2000USD and is too expensive for us yet.

Is it okay to go with a managed wordpress hosting? What’s the difference between that and dedicated hosting?

I’m thinking of going with A2 hosting https://www.a2hosting.com/about/renewal-pricing/

We avoid discussions about particular hosts here because it almost always leads to spammy threads. The key thing about managed hosting is that you get support; if you rent a VPS, you’re the sysadmin. That’s cool if you’re good at Linux and web server stacks. If that’s not your skill set, managed or shared hosting is your best choice.

The actual details of “managed” may vary from host to host, so be sure to ask and compare.

Meantime, I’m closing this topic per forum guidelines. The WordPress team has provided a list of a few recommended hosting providers.
