Invalid argument warning and empty templates

    Hi,

    Better notifications would be a great extension for my sites, but I’m having a lot of problems.

    1. Invalid arguments warning:
    When I publish or update a post, I get a lot of warnings:

    2. I get a lot of notifications mails and they are all empty:
    The mails probably come because I installed the plug-in on sites with a lot of activity already. That’s ok.
    But all mails come empty except for the subject line.

    Txs for your help.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi,

    I wouldn’t worry too much about the messages you’re seeing in the log as they’re just warnings. It’s only time to panic if you see fatal errors etc. We are currently looking at removing the warning messages though as we work our way through the development of the plugin.

    Regarding the blank messages, are you installing this on Multisite?

    Hi,

    Thanks for getting back to me.
    I’m not worried about the warnings. But I have a number of external authors and they are “annoyed”.

    I’m using the plug-in on two stand-alone WP installations. Both send me notifications with just the subject line but otherwise empty.
    I have created a new category and received a notification with part of the message. But all others, including notifications about new posts, are empty.

    Hmm, that’s strange.

    Do the warning appear in the WordPress dashboard? If so, you may have left define(‘WP_DEBUG’, true); in wp-config.php.

    Can you also confirm you are on the most recent version of the plugin? It might be worth deleting the plugin via FTP (not via the WP Admin) and then downloading and re-uploading a copy.

    They do NOT appear in the dashboard.

    I downloaded and installed the plug-in from the WP repository a few days ago. So you tell me if I have the latest version or not :).
    It says “Version 0.2 Beta”

    I downloaded the version again and deleted and uploaded it via FTP.
    I will let you know if anything changed.

    If you have a new build, I’m happy to test it. Let me know where I can get it from.

    Yup, that’s the latest.

    We’re working on a new build at the moment but nothing test worthy just yet.

    Let me know if the re-upload has fixed anything, if not you can always (if you’re happy to) fire over an email to me at hello {at} voltronik {dot} co {dot} uk with admin login details so I can take a look at your site.

    ok.

    Tested it again after the re-install. Has not changed anything, I’m still getting empty mails.

    Thanks for sending through the site login.
    I’ve done some testing and everything is coming out as expected.

    There does seem to be some glitches caused between BNFW and Jetpack which I can look at fixing soon but apart from that, email message bodies are being populated with information.

    I have some screenshots of the emails, where is best to send them to?

    Some of the messages are complete, but the important ones are not, e.g.
    A post was published by voltronik on 2013-05-22 11:42:18
    Here’s an excerpt:

    But there is no excerpt.

    And I added [source domain] to some of the templates and I always get the shortcode instead of the domain.

    Aside from the warning the plug-in works fine now and is sending me the correct messages.

    I would appreciate if you could resolve the Jetpack issue (it’s an important plug-in) and help me get rid of the warnings.

    Great, am pleased 🙂

    Try [source-domain] instead of [source domain].
    The excerpt is a bit of a fussy shortcode and we’re trying to patch that up. It doesn’t always work unless a shortcode is deliberately specified (not auto-generated).

    We’ll look at the Jetpack compatibility issues as soon as we can.

    Hi, no other 3rd party plugins. Using Pageline theme.
    Website is password protected with .htaccess and .htpasswrd though. Could this have an effect on the plugin?
