Internal Server errors with WP 4.7.1
-
Updated to WP 4.7.1 last night and get an internal server error after updating the Events plugin to 4.4.01. This prevented any further plugin updates and caused errors on the site. Disabling the Events plugin removes all the errors.

Hi,
I am also experiencing this problem after upgrading to WP 4.7.1.
Removing and reinstalling the plugin has not resolved the issue. The PHP error log contains the following fatal errors:
[12-Jan-2017 13:39:23 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined method Tribe__Settings_Manager::add() in E:\zzz\wp-content\plugins\the-events-calendar\common\src\Tribe\Main.php on line 237

Encountered the same issue as well, which completely broke my entire site. I had to revert to the previous version and everything worked again. Not sure if they’re aware but this should be fixed ASAP.
Please fix ASAP. Multiple sites on php7.1, WP 4.7+, attempting to upgrade to 4.4.01 both using auto-update and complete deactivate/delete/reinstall.
Just to bump this, this is NOT happening on a Windows server. Some news of a fix would be appreciated.
Hi @batters22 (and others!),
Can you confirm that you’re still experiencing this issue with the new version we released (4.4.1.1)?
Best,
Shelby 🙂
Updated this morning without issue. Thank you.
Hi
Thanks for the update. I still get a blank white page after updating and activating the plugin. As before I then cannot install or activate any further plugins.Note I am not using a custom stylesheet for Events Calendar.
Regards
SimonHi @batters22,
Thanks for following up–I’m sorry to hear that you’re still experiencing issues with The Events Calendar version 4.4.1.1. Are you installing plugin updates via the WordPress backend or using FTP? Does this blank white page persist across your entire site (i.e. the site is completely inaccessible when The Events Calendar is active), or does it only affect the Plugins page? Any other information you can provide regarding this problem will help us to troubleshoot and advise on next steps!
Thank you!
Hi Caroline
On further investigation, although this manifested in the same way as the original issue, the latest problem was just a memory overflow, so it looks like this is now OK. Plugin is re-enabled and site is fine. Thanks for the response.Hi @batters22,
Thanks so much for following up to confirm–glad to hear that things are working well on your end now. Please don’t hesitate to follow up in a new thread if you should notice any new problems occurring or if you should have any other questions or concerns. We’ll be more than glad to assist! 🙂
Thank you!
I am having a few issues updating the plugin, can you assist please?
I am installing plugin updates via the WordPress backend. the plugin works okay on the front end. When i try to update it says :internal server error
i also have a message saying:
“The following plugins are out of date: Events Calendar PRO 4.0.2. All add-ons contain dependencies on The Events Calendar and will not function properly unless paired with the right version.”Do you think this is to do with the plugin or like Batters22 above it could be a memory thing? The site is http://www.brightonphil.org.uk
Many thanks
DorothyHi Any news on the above?
Many thanks
DorothyFor the life of me I can’t work out how to start a new forum topic. Can anyone tell me where I find the “add new” button?
For the moment I will post my problem here, because it is definitely the same problem just with a different version of wordpress (4.7.5) and probably a different theme (Pinboard). So here goes…
I have built a website for the non-profit organisation ’The Hunter Regional Band Association’ (so unfortunately am only using the free version of the events calendar, but hope you can still help me sort out a problem I have encountered). I also manage the site for them adding new information as necessary, which mainly consists of upcoming performances and competition dates in ‘the events calendar’ and a few photos.
I have been very happy with the functionality of ‘the events calendar’ and wish to keep using it, but when I went into the site last week to update some information, I encountered a problem, which I have been unable to fix. The site is oscillating from having ‘the events calendar’ activated and deactivated just to enable me to access the site. I am about to deactivate ‘the events calendar’ from the site again and load another calendar, but it does not offer the features I need and would prefer to get the problem sorted out so I can go back to using ‘the events calendar’ as I was previously.
I am obviously not the only person with this problem by the looks of this forum.
I will give you the website URL, so you can see if there is anything stupid I have done… hrba.org.au (just be aware that the site loads whether ‘the events calendar’ is activated or not, I just can’t access the back end of the site through wordpress if it is activated and until I go in and delete it from the plugins in cPanel I have no access — quite frankly this is a pain).
What the site is supposed to do when ‘the events calendar’ is activated is display Upcoming Events (as per entries into ‘the events calendar’) at the top of the widget on the right hand side of most pages. There is usually also a Calendar page that displays on the page under the dropdown News and Events (I also seem to be having trouble loading any other month than the current one, so that may be another problem or related, not sure yet).
What seems to be the problem is that I am getting an internal server error when I activate ‘the events calendar’, which leaves me unable to access the site via wordpress. However, that is somewhat random, by occasionally logging me out of the site and not letting me log back in without going into cPanel and deleting the plugin (which is what is happening at the moment, but it has let me in and allowed me to deactivate the plugin on at least one occasion, not sure why).
I have deduced that it must be ‘the events calendar’, quite accidentally, by deleting all of the plugins (by accessing them in cPanel) and reloading them one by one. I did this a couple of times and eventually decided, by a process of elimination, that it was ‘the events calendar’ causing the problem. However, I can’t work out how to fix it.
I might also add that the problem only only became evident after I upgraded a few plugins (including ‘the events calendar’) last week. I noticed that there were a number of updates required, including a WordPress update (although, I resisted upgrading to 4.8, because I noticed a few of the plugins were only saying they were compatible with the 4.7 version I was currently using). I have been nervous about doing any more upgrades and am not sure if updating wordpress to 4.8 will rectify my problem. Sadly, by the looks of this forum and the plethora of other complaints about similar sounding errors, I seriously doubt it will fix it.
I really hope someone can help me (and maybe tell me how the hell I start a new forum topic of my very own).
Cheers
lynandrog
This sounds like the original issue I had, which was fixed in a release and has not recurred. However, I did also have to increase the memory limit in WordPress otherwise I still got a white screen after activating the plugin.
The simplest way to do this is to add this line to wp-config.php:
define( 'WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '64M' );The form fields to start a new topic should be at the bottom of the screen when you view the support forum for Events Calendar.
