Installing WP Locally
-
Didn’t find anything in the forum for this one, so here it goes. I’m a newbie, and installed wordpress on my server where my site is hosted. I went to town creating a new theme from scratch on my site. I would code locally, and then upload the files, refresh, etc., to get the work done.
I’m now realizing this is not efficient, and that I need to work locally. I installed WP locally, everything is up and running perfectly, so here’s my question:
How do I synchronize all the existing work on the server, with my local computer? So that is all looks and feels the same?
I tried copying over the wp-content folders, etc., but no joy. A bunch of defaults are still in place. Any help here would be greatly appreciated as I am under deadline. I can code quickly, but didn’t know the WP admin interface would be so slow refreshing pages. Thanks, -Jason
