Installing transfered wordpress… please help!

Hello,

I’m trying to instal a wordpress database on a dummy site. I transfered all the contents from the one database into the second. But I’m getting an “Error establishing a database connection” error.

It won’t let me create a wp-admin.php file automatically. And when I input database info provided by server manually, it comes up as error. I assume I use the database info for the new server/site, correct?

Please note that it cannot be upgraded, must stay at 2.5.1. I would sincerely appreciate any help you can give.
