installing jquery and adding a plugin

    Hello I have activated JQuery through my control panel through softalucus. I really want to use this plugin:

    But when I follow in the instructions its says to enter the first script under my jquery library in the header. When I checked my header file it does not make reference to jquery library. How can I activate it before adding the plugin’s script? I am using the twenty ten theme and I have copied the header file into a child theme.

    Hi annalouis, I don’t think I can answer your question specifically, but I did want to chime in with this note as it may help.

    A default installation of WordPress already includes a version of jQuery, so you shouldn’t need to take any additional steps to install it. It may be that if you’ve “installed” jQuery twice, the two versions may be conflicting with each other.
