Installation Unable to execute /…/wp-admin/install.php: Exec format err

    Unable to execute /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/leeslegacy.com/cgi-bin/wp-admin/install.php: Exec format error.

    Here is the error that I get.

    I have uploaded all the files to cgi-bin subdirectory.
    Modified the config file accordingly.
    Changed permissions to greater than required.
    Created a database using the Command Console of the website and can access it with phpMyAdmin which is loaded on the server. Created a user and have used the database name and user and password created for that database in the config file.

    I get the above error message and am unsure where to turn.

    As far as I know, the wp-admin folder should NOT be under cgi-bin, it should be under domain.com/<your wp install>/wp-admin

    <your wp install> could be under the root, I personally use /wp/ so it looks like domain.com/wp/wp-admin

    Your correct – and the instalaltion is starting. I let you know about the next road block. Who would have thought.

    Installation all done – I hate it when I make things more complicated than they need to be . Thanks for the support – jdingm
