  • I Googled around a bit for installing WordPress on WAMP and couldn’t find much. But, I found a lot of information about installing WordPress on WampServer. That said, might I suggest trying the following and see if it gets you past the issues you’re currently experiencing:

    https://make.wordpress.org/core/handbook/installing-a-local-server/installing-wampserver/

P.S., WampServer can be freely downloaded here:

    http://www.wampserver.com/en/

Reading through the instructions reminded me of what your issue could be. The instructions state, “A Windows Security Alert window will open, saying that Windows Firewall has blocked some features of the program. Check whether you want to allow Apache HTTP Server to communicate on a private or public network, then click Allow Access.”

Being that your error messages center around “WordPress could not establish a secure connection to WordPress.org”, the issue could be that something is blocking those connections. And, that something could be your firewall and/or virus/malware protection software. Just a thought!
