Hi guys I’m a bit of newbie to WordPress so bear with me!

I had a web developer make my website, which I am very proud of, The Halfway Line (URL is http://the-halfwayline.com), but I because I didn’t make the site, I have none of the files for WordPress meaning I cannot edit etc.

I have asked the web dev but they have not replied so I’m stuck. Is there any way of me getting the files through logging in to the site or something? I would like to have all the documentation as security and so I don’t have to rely on the web dev who is unresponsive.

So basically, can anyone suggest what I could do to get them at all??

    Thank you in advance 😃

  • You will need the web hosting details to get the files. Most times there’s FTP login details and there’s a control panel login. You’ll need FTP to get the files, and the control panel login to get the database.

How would I go about that?

You will need to contact your hosting company. Most times they’ll send you a “welcome” message with those details in it, but if not they can send them to you again.

If your hosting through the devleoper and they aren’t responding there’s nothing else that we can do apart from suggest that you wait or try some other method of contact.

Yeah it is by the web dev so I’ll have to pray they respond, or give them a ring! Thanks!
