Inserting images into home widget

I have created a front-page.php file and copied it to my childofresponsive folder and with a little tweaking I have gotten the 3 home widgets to appear on my home page. Now I want to insert an image into the home widget 1. I have put the text widget in the home widget 1 and I have typed in the following html:
<img src”http://www.evanstonpremier.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/diabetes_article_image.png&#8221; />

I also tried the same code with a width of 82 which is just a random number since I don’t have an idea of the size:
<img src”http://www.evanstonpremier.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/diabetes_article_image.png”width=82 />

I get a tiny default image inserted in my widget but that is all.
