index.php doesn’t load, shows directory intstead

    Hi there, i’m new to the world of wordpress, and i have been trying to get this thing workin now for about 4 days now (after giving up on this a couple months ago after a couple weeks trying to get this set up), all i get when i enter the url is, the directory showing all the files in my wordpress install. Im really confused, and cant really seem to find anything about this problem.

    I know its probably some n00b’ish type of question, and im guessing its something totally simple, but for some reason i just can’t seem to get this tackled. Please help

    You don’t have index.php set up in your default documents for the web server. You’ll need to talk with your host about how to fix it.

    In the web server software you are using (IIS, Apache, etc) you need to have index.php as one of the default pages to show if it exists in the directory.

    Hopefully that gets you on the right track to solving it at least.

    Ok it was a host config problem, once i contacted them and they edited my accounts .htaccess, everything works. Thank you all for pointing me in the right direction. 🙂
