Index page HTML

I just added some script HTML into my footer and then decided to take it out after it did not work satisfactorily. I removed the HTML but the script still appears to be functioning on my home page. I had a look at the Source of the home page and I see that even though I just added it to the footer.php it has also gone into the last line at the bottom of my main page HTML.

I accessed the footer HTML by going into “Appearance”, “Edit” and choosing the footer.php on the right.

How do I access the main page html. I can’t see it on the right like the footer page.

I also tried looking for the main page file in my cpanel (normally index.html) but I could not find the main home page file.

Can anyone shed some light on all this.
