I signed up for server space with Advanced Networks the other night. I registered two domains (one of which is an addon domain). I installed WordPress on the addon. It was fine for about an hour and now all I get when I got to that domain is the index for the site.

Is there something wrong with WordPress or is more likely a server issue?

    Thanks for any help.

  • Your hosts will have probably set it so that the extra domain will be another domain for your main site. In your host’s control panel you should be able to fix it.

I set up the directory (and don’t see an error), but I can’t seem to figure out what happend to make it only display the index instead of the actual blog.

Is index.php a valid index page on that server?
Usually that’s the reason seeing the directory index. Tell the host they need to make index.php a valid index file.
(Probably it was so before, but hosts tend to screw around their boxes…)

I sent an e-mail to a friend using WordPress and he correctly diagnosed the problem as a missing .htaccess file.
