indeed! there is a message Notification issue as mentioned by one of PG user @ https://wordpress.org/support/topic/notification-issue-6/ No unread message number shows in message tab. UNLESS user is LIVE in page https://abe.com/my-profile/#pg-messages

hope PG coder will fix this in Version 4.5.2
