Forgive me if this is already posted elsewhere…a quick search didn’t turn anything up, unless I’m just completely oblivious and missed it.

I’m just wondering if anyone else is having issues with entries not formatting properly?

I’m just in the final stages of moving from Blogger to WordPress, and I just can’t seem to get my entries to post correctly yet.

It seems that all of my entries have formatting issues. When I carriage-return, the rich editor is automatically putting double spacing between my paragraphcs. I find this horribly irksome to begin with, as I’d rather do this myself without the editor trying to “help” me. As a result of being used to hitting enter twice, I frequently end up with *4* lines between paragraphs….

Now, I can deal with that (but it’s still aggravating), except it seems that some of my paragrap breaks are not making it through to the final published entry – I end up with paragraphs stuck together without proper spacing.

This is despite of the fact that in the rich editor, the line breaks are indeed there. Even if I edit afterwards and confirm the formatting, the published result still shows up without the spacing.

I have also tried to de-select the rich editor, however it’s still loading by default it seems.

Is there something I’m missing here? I don’t mind the rich editor as I tend to put alot of images into my entries and it simplifies that process, but at the same time I can’t be fighting with it repeatedly (or be forced to write HTML entries) in order to create a properly formatted and laid out blog entry.

    Suggestions? Thanks!

FWIW, the blog in question is here:

  • The rich editor has some “issues”, it is best to use the standard editor when doing anything like this. I’m guessing the blogger entries already have paragraphing, so you’re probably adding more with the carriage return.

    Good luck,
    Michael.

If I could get the plain (non-rich) editor to work I would definately use it for the time being.

However, even though I’ve deselected the rich editor option, whenever I go to add/edit a post, it still shows up as the default.

    (sigh)

Have you disabled it both places? There’s the one in Writing (I think it is) where it’s set as the default for anyone, then there’s the one in your User Profile, near the left bottom….

Ahha! Missed the profile option – that fixed it! Thanks!

Now, I wonder when the rich editor will be remedied?
