importing comments from blogger problem

i recently imported my blog to wordpress from blogger. all of the posts transfered great, but the comments did not transfer completely. most of the posts have words/sentences missing.

i think it may have to do with the practice of some bloggers to state quotes as >>(text)<< in their comments. what can i do to rectify this situation? is there anyway to get these comments to transfer in their entirety?
