Could you try uploading your .wpress file via FTP to wp-content/ai1wm-backups and then restore it by using the Backups section instead?

Also, when the import seems to be working it stops and seems to get stuck on around 70% when it is importing.

It is stuck now on ‘Restoring Files, 60.60% complete’ and has been like this for at least an hour now. This happens everyday. It seems to let me fully import one site but when I go to import another this happens.

Could you login to your exported site using FTP and see if there are backups from other plugins that you can delete before export/import?
The plugin likely gets stuck at some % on restoring files when there are large backups/files inside the .wpress backup.

there are no large files to delete on the backup we are trying to import, it is just getting stuck at ‘restoring 9700 files, 13.00% complete’. This is still happening every time I go to import a site still.
