  • You mean a regular WP blog into another ?
    Not wordpress.com ?
Not merging one blog into another ?
    It’s a little unclear …

We started two wprdpress blogs a week ago. Now I was told to start a new one and merge the contents of the two previous into the new one. I noticed that there was help for merging other types of blogs into wordpress. But no info on what I was looking for

    Merging blogs is very difficult.
The posts and comments may share the same ID and problems will happen because of that. If the number of posts is low in one, moving them manually is a good (though possibly slow) option.

As for ‘merging’ – there are guides for importing into a new blog with no entries but merging is a different topic entirely and I know of no guides for that due to it’s complexity.

I have a WordPress blog that I run on my own but signed up with WordPress.com in order to make my spam plugin work … I was hoping to try and import content from my regular blog into my WordPress.com blog … are there any easy ways to do this? I know WordPress.com makes it easy to import from Blogger, Typepad and Movable Type, but how about from a different WordPress blog? Any tips would be great. Thanks!

I have a similar problem. I have a blog that started in two lagnuages, now I would like to split the two. Just importing all the entries and then manually deleting half would work fine. But I don’t know how to do it.

    Many thanks,
    Pietro

coxgrl1980 – you would probably get a better answer at the wordpress.com forums as the code underneath wp.com is slightly different.

pietrosperoni – how many entries ?

sorry. I did it. But it was about 20 entries with comments. I copied the whole DB, then deleted the remaining 60 entries.

I did a similar thing the other day. My server had a failure which cost me my blog. Luckily I had made a backup of the sql database. (I believe its the same way the wp2.0 backup plugin works). Its a bit of a bodge around, but it worked give or take. Instructions:
