• I have a few old “blogs” using pMachine and want to switch to WordPress. WordPress has an automatic import function, but it is only covering these systems:

    Blogger
    Dotclear
    Movable Type
    RSS
    Textpattern

Nevertheless, in WordPress version 1.6 it is said that pMachine import is supported:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Version_1.6

Can I go ahead and try to use one of the options above? Or.. is there a plugin I can use?

Did some searching here and in Google, could not find any other answer than that people had performed the import, but not any info about how they did it.

I would appreciate any help on this matter.

  • Why not install WP 1.6 and import your pMachine data and when everything works to your satisfaction – upgrade to WP 2.0.2?

Because there is no WP 1.6 🙂
Both of you: read the first line on the Codex page linked above.

You can try importing RSS – that should work for everything.

Bwahaha – so that’s what 2 years around here gets you! You learn how to read. :>)
Actually I assumed he was talking about 1.5.2.

No, in Europe we used to learn to read before the Internet was invented <grin>
After 1.5.2 the next release was supposed to be 1.6 but because it was a major upgrade – they jumped to 2.0.

I want to import the posts into WordPress 2.0. I know that 1.6 did not get released, but chose to mention it as the page mentions that pmachine would be supported in 1.6, thereby making me think that it should be available in 2.0 as well?

Sorry for the confusion, here is the simple version of my question: I want to import posts from pmachine to WordPress 2.0. How can I do it?
