Import nothing happens

    Hello

    I have always used this plugin

    I love it. It has made my life so much easier.

    Export and import and few settings here there / menu / home page / and I am done.

    But for 1 site, which is my own company website lolz, all clients happened perfect). is not happening. So this is not good. All done but for own company, its not happening.

    1.
    make export , then click download (mostly this download has been getting cut off 22 mb or 50 mb etc), so I FTP and download this file. via FTP.
    This has been issue for some time, but since the work around worked for me I never complained.

    2. When I upload this file, all usually goes well.
    But for some case after Import/upload is complete, it says now plugins and permalinks settings will happen, new window thing. at that stage when i press close, nothing happens. Its just as if nothing happened.

    All upload lost or mite have uploaded, but it does nothing at all.

    Hi lionking06,

    I am sorry the plugin does not import your site properly.
    Did the plugin log you out after import and that you had to login with the credentials of the exported site?

    We have managed to migrate the site for you successfully with the plugin.
    It might be possible that you forgot to save permalinks twice after import.

    The exact same thing just happened to me! It took over an hour for me to upload everything, and then i got the screen that said to save the permalinks twice.. I did that.. then I looked at the site and it was as if nothing even changed?!

    What should I do? I don’t want to risk another hour of uploading it if it’s not going to work again….

    I’m having the same issue right now. Upload seems to work but nothing is imported.

    I am having the same problem. The plugin does not log me out. I press on the update permalinks, custom is already filled out and I save it twice. My username and password are the same for the old/new site though if that makes a difference

    Could you make sure that you have set permissions on wp-content to 775 recursively?

    Is that really a sound advice, to set all the files and folders of wp-content to 775?

    Anyway, I did try it and no, the import did not work any way.

    Edit: I also updated to 5.42 and tried again, but still nothing.

    I am sorry it still does not work for you.
    How large is your .wpress file?
    Could you check the Backups page of your exported site and see if the size matches with the one you have downloaded?

    I’ve done backups both with and without media folder (10 MB and 2 MB, respectively), and those sizes largely matches the sizes shown on the Backups page. (This is the site I’m exporting.)

    At the site where I’m trying to import the writing permissions seem to work since I can create backup. It’s just the importing that doesn’t work, even though it reports it as successful.

    Anyway, I used traditional database export/import instead (with the excellent Search Replace DB to change domain name).

    I tried to reset the permissions. Still failed. It crashes the site every time. It did let me go to the save perm links onces and I did it twice but it never logged me out. After I pressed save perm links twice no data was imported. Still don’t know why this is failing, but I can not keep crashing the site to figure it out. I don’t know what differs me from all the successful transfers I have seen in your reviews. The size of the file for me is around 250 MB with media
