Images posting double on posts

I’m having a problem inserting images into my post. Every time, whether I insert the media from the visual side, or the text side, It shows up as double the image. Even when I remove the image, one version still shows up in my post. I do not have a featured image. Ironically, the only way to get a picture to show up only once IS to set a featured image, but then that only shows up on the main page, and not the post itself.

the top four posts are awesome examples of why i’m so frustrated right now. The first post, I copied the script from post number 2 and pasted it into post number one. Showed up perfect. But when I use the insert media function in post 2 and post 4, it shows two pictures.

Post third from the top, I used the insert media function, with no text and it posted just fine. I dont understand what i’m doing wrong here.
