Images fail to upload successfully

Images are not successfully uploading to one of my blogs. After I insert an image, the html is created, and there is a hyperlink for the caption I entered, but no thumbnail. When I try to do this in the “media” section, I get an entry for the image, but no image. This is only happening on one of my two sites, one a subdomain of the other.
