    Hi,

The plugin may show this image if the data lookup to the Amazon server fails (Amazon are enforcing a maximum lookups per second policy).

Try enabling the plugin’s product data cache to see if that improves things.

Thanks Paul. Unfortunately I’m already using the data cache.

The issue I think is that if the product lookup fails the first-time, apparently it’s never attempted again. Is it possible to have it marked as “try-again”?

    Hmmm,

The plugin should already do this. For lookup failures it should not put any data into the cache.

Are you using any additional caching software? Sometimes the old data gets stuck in other WordPress cache plugins.

Hi Paul. I think I figured it out. It looks like for some products, especially as they age, Amazon does not have an image that is available for the thumbnail size. So apparently the plugin will request an image from Amazon and it will never get one. It would be awesome if this could be logged somewhere.

    Thanks!

    Hi SD,

I’ll certainly look into adding more logging info, its a good idea, could also log products that are no longer available.
