wpDiscuz has many built-in protection functions against spam. Also it works fine with most of Antispam plugins like Akismet, Zero Spam, etc… You can start without anti-spam plugins. If wpDiscuz protection will not be enough you can install antispam plugins or buy wpDiscuz – Google reCAPTCHA.
2) can i post an image in a comment?
By now you can put image URL and it’ll be converted to image HTML. However we’re preparing Media Uploader Addon, which comes with an extended features to attach and upload Images/Photos, Videos/Audios and other file types… We’re almost done. It’ll be available with 3.2.6 version within next few days.

Make sure you didn’t put it in other functions. Scroll down and put it at the end of Theme functions.php file
