IE display issues

I am using WP 1.5 something and I have implemented the relaxation theme. I made my own top image, and it looks great in firefox, but IE displays it with this white 1 pixel line around one side.

Also, I started working my linklists into the blog, and in firefox it looks great. In IE though the second column starts below the first. If you have any hints as to how to fix this please advise.
