Icon Column Links

Is there a way to make the icon column links go to a different page/URL than the page that is being displayed? I want to show a summary here and if clicked direct to a blog layout of certain categories of posts.

Thanks for trying out Vega. We appreciate it.
I am afraid this version of the theme is restricted to going to the page selected in the Customize section.
We do have a feature in the Pro version where you can display your own images, text, heading and URL (completely free to add whatever you like here): http://demo.lyrathemes.com/vega-pro/#featured
If I’m doing infinite scroll, how do I make these pages unlinked so they can’t be clicked, or so that they scroll to the correct section?
I am not sure I understand, sorry! Can you give me an example?
I have 4 columns I’m showing. 3 are short descriptions of 3 types of services I provide, Service1, Service2, Service3, the fourth column is a short description of how to book. The three service types are discussed in the CTA, CTA2, and Open Content sections in greater detail. I want the user to be able to click on one icon and scroll to the CTA section that discuss the service in more detail. I’m OK with the booking description one going to a separate page because this will be the contact form page and it is separate from the one page.
Sure – just link it to http://www.yourdomainname.com/#cta1 (#cta1 will be whatever you’ve named that section).
Let me know if you need anything.
Yes I know how to structure the link URL, what I can’t figure out is how to set the link? It defaults to the pages that are selected, and I can’t seem to change that?
Oh I am sorry, yes, I missed the part where you were talking about the icons. I am afraid the icons only link to pages directly in the free version. We do have a more flexible front page section (it allows for images, absolute URLs and a free standing description – anything you want) in Vega Pro. In order to make the icons do what you’re trying to do, you will need to customize the theme and make some edits.
Best of luck!
I’d buy pro but imho the price is too high (100+ annually). Especially given some of the bugginess I already encountered with free version (setting icon pages didn’t stick, had to reset them multiple times, already had to edit the theme content.php to not show demo images for the image left content right blog layout). Found a different theme that does everything (including animations) for $50 one time.
Sure djandy, best of luck for the future!
Just a quick correction – the price is only $35 and the first month of support and updates is free. You can cancel the support plan at any time – right after purchase or right before the free month ends – and you won’t be charged again after that.
For the content.php – you didn’t have to edit anything – choosing “Excerpts Only” for the blog feed in the customizer would have done the trick: http://prntscr.com/cvtgg5 The left image format expects an image to be shown (otherwise the layout would look broken) and that’s why it supplements with sample images. For people who do not have images, we have an excerpt only option.
Ah I understand your support plan better now. That makes sense.
I understand the desire for images for all the content in that layout mode, but I had feature images for some posts and no feature images for others. Wasn’t a hard edit, just had to copy the if statement that checked whether or not ‘demo content’ setting was enabled.
